Sr.
May 28, 1934 – August 30, 2024
Esau Sims Sr. was the 9th child of Essie and Andrew Sims. He was born on May 28,1934 in Notasulga, Alabama. He was married to the late Eleanor Sims for 70 plus years. He transitioned in Spring Hill, Florida on August 30, 2024. He confessed Christ at an early age. A Man truly after God's own heart loved to lift his hands and worship God in a way only he could.
Esau Sims Sr. was educated in Tuskegee, Alabama. His greatest hobbies were fishing, building things, and repairing anything he put his mind to. He was a master at making handcrafted angels.
To the union of Eleanor Sims, they had two sons and one daughter:
(Son) Esau Sims Jr., (Daughter) Cynthia Meadows and the late (Son) Curtis Sims.
Esau Sims Sr. was employed by Seiberling Rubber Company for over 30 plus years. He made the very last tire ever built at Seiberling and manufactured over 40,0000 tires in that time span and then later retired. Also, he had many other talents… They called him the Watchmaker on the CB radio… the Carpenter on the street…the fisher of men on the water, the Builder (Fixer of all things) in the home… the Gentle Giant in the local School system…, the Faithful Member in the church (Grace Cathedral) … and most of all the Loving Husband and Father in the home.
Esau Sims Sr. dedicated his life to his family. At one time he worked 3 jobs just to keep the household going at the level he wanted.
He worked for the Barberton School System (after retirement) doing what he does best by ensuring decency and order in the school.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Sims; parents, Andrew and Essie; siblings, Mildred, Lee (LC), Catherine, Andrew (Boy), Canteus, Julia, Mary, Jacob, Gwen; son, Curtis Sims; grandson, Esau Jaques; and great grandson, Quincy.
He is survived by sister, Louise Askew; sister-in-law, Alice Sims; son, Esau Sims Jr. (Pamela); sister, Cynthia Meadows (Barry); grandchildren, Rashawn(Bonita), Jeff(Ashley) , George (DJ), Andre , Angela, Andrew Curtis , Aaron Spence , Danielle, Ashley, Brianna, Barry Jr.; great grandchildren, Rashawn II, Aniya , Ariana, Jayla, Makayla, Kristen, Jeffrey, Jaelynn, Jeremiah, Bella, Quinton, Ge'niyah, Kaelyn; great great grandchildren, Aylani, Rashawn III, Destiny, John (Trey) , Jayden, Brielle, Camden, August, Harlow, Marcellus, Dallas, Kalea and one on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, close family members and a caring church, who LOVED him dearly.
Esau Sims Sr. was known as a WISE, KIND, and a GENTLE MAN, to many with a will that is unprecedented in the workplace. Most of all HE LOVED THE LORD!
He touched the lives of many people with his loving heart and his generous spirit, and he will be greatly missed.
