Ervie Allen Strickland, Sr, age 70, went Home to be with the Lord on June 8, 2025. Ervie was born in Franklin, Georgia to Horace and Margaret Strickland on May 30, 1955.
His competitive nature led him to play high school basketball for McKinley and Timken where he was a standout on All City Nights.
After graduating from Timken High School, he went on to play softball for 18 years while also leading the youth as a little league football coach.
His favorite pass time was playing cards, horseshoes and watching the Cleveland Browns.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Marie Strickland; his mother, Margaret Strickland; and his sister, Sylvia Ramos (Strickland).
He is survived by his daughter, Teri Chester; son, Ervie Strickland, Jr.; brothers, Ronnie Strickland and Dwayne Strickland; sister, Pamela Hood; three grandchildren, LaTrell Tate, LaNiyah Tate and DeMontay Strickland; one great grandchild, Nayeli Tate; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
