Earnest L. Watson, Jr. went home to be with The Lord on December 5, 2022.  He was born in Aberdeen, Mississippi on July 23, 1948, and was the first son of Earnest and Georgia Watson.

Earnest attended John R. Buchtel High School and after graduation he joined the United States Army until August 22, 1968, serving in the Vietnam War.

He was raised in St. Paul A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Rev. Lincoln Cadelle.  On July 4, 2000, he met the love of his life, Daphne J. Walker and shortly after they were married.

Earnest is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Georgia Watson, Sr., brother, John L. Leatherwood, sister, Colia Nation, grandparents, Willie and Sally Watson, Herbert and Lucy Lenoir, John and Mattie Leatherwood and stepson, Tiray.
