Ernest Atkins, of Akron, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2021. He was born in Akron, Ohio on February 24, 1954 to Bernice James and Ernest Akins.

At a young age, Ernest dedicated his life to the Lord. He loved reading the bible and his favorite scripture was Psalm 23:1 "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want." And Ernest lived his life without any wants nor regrets.

Soft spoken Ernest who enjoyed hanging out with the younger guys which helped shape their adult life. He was truly a caregiver and never wanted to burden anyone else. Ernest loved to skate, shoot pool, playing cards, hanging

out with his friends and his family and traveled the world; and when he completed his last game, he transitioned peacefully.

He was preceded in death by his parents (Bernice and Ernest Sr.), and sister (Shirley Jean Horton).

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Patrice Johnson-Thompson (Tiant) and Carlysa Williams, both of Akron, OH, Charlie Bell of Louisville, KY and Nefertiti Atkins of Atlanta, GA; sons, Kevin Bell of Louisville, KY and James Boyer (Jasymn) of Akron, OH; sisters, Chirley Solomon Samuels and Onida Atkins of Atlanta GA and Marilyn Perkins (Jeff) of Cleveland Heights, OH; brothers, Jimmy Solomon, Atlanta, GA, Anthony Langford, Columbus, OH and Brian Atkins (Lavonne) of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Cierrea, Dezlarae, Devien, Brenden, Quadar, Cheryl, Kennedy, Crystal, James, and Jordyn; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
