Eric W. Reynolds went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 8, 2023, after a brief illness surrounded by loved ones. He was born March 5, 1960, in Akron, Ohio to both the late William Lanier and Hazel J. Reynolds.

Eric accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of North Hill Community Baptist Church. Eric was a graduate of John R. Buchtel High School. After Graduating Eric entered the workforce working for B & C for many years and most recently Menards Inc, in Columbus, Ohio up until his health failed. Eric was an active member of the Akron Community for over 40 years serving as a Youth Football Coach for the Akron East Dragons for 20 years and subsequently retiring from Akron West Griffins. Eric mentored many of his players who went on to play college football and some even in the NFL. His influence made a difference in the lives of many. Eric was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy Football Fan often participating in spirited debate with anyone brave enough to entertain the conversation.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents William Lanier and Hazel J. Reynolds, Sister Varnetta (James) Sibley. Brother Derrick Wilkes. Nephew Trace-Shun Sibley.

Eric leaves to cherish his memory his wife Thea Nicole Coker-Reynolds. Children Kiona (Keon) Hankton-Langford of Chester, VA. Eric Wharton of Charlotte, NC. Shaquille Reynolds, Brianna Williams and Tyree Moore all of Akron, Oh. Stepsons DeAndre Baskerville, Gary (Amari) Council, Anthony McDowell and Larreal Sowell, and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Siblings: Leonard Anderson, William Anderson, Kevin Reynolds, Dion Reynolds and LaWanna Reynolds, Carl Lanier, Timmy Wilkes and Leshauna Lanier. Favorite Niece TaKisha Sibley, Favorite Nephew Clay CJ Johnson and a multitude of family and friends.
