Emmitt Earl Martin was born on January 29, 1945, Yazoo City, MS, to the late Emmitt Martin, Sr. and Robert Lee Fouche' Martin. He was self-employed as a Carpenter. He served in the United States Army for 4 years and retired as a Veteran. On May 20, 1974, he married Dorris Jean Martin nee Payne, whom he shared a life with for 10 years. On October 29, 1987, he married Johnnie Martin nee Bell, who preceded him in death in 2015, and shared a life with her for 28 years. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. Earl was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert Ross Martin, Warren (Whit) Lewis Martin, and Precious Herbert Martin and four sisters: Claudine Williams Green Blocker, Pearl (Tee) Williams Reece, Mary Louise Martin Luce, and Helen Faye Martin Clark. He leaves to cherish his memories, two children: one daughter, Ms. Cherria Montgomery nee Martin, and one son, Mr. Antonio Earl Martin, two stepsons, Mr. Jeno Bell and Mr. Victor Bell, two granddaughters Tamia Bell and Ashley Bruins, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
