Emma B Mitchell went home to be with the Lord after a short illness on January 11, 2018 at the blessed age of 85.She was a lifelong resident of Akron; a loyal Cleveland Browns fan and avid Bingo Player. She was born December 12, 1932, to Hudson and Margaret Burkett. After graduating from Central High School, her focus was being a wife to Charles Mitchell Sr. and a mother to her two sons. She worked at Akron Tile & Supply, Akron General Hospital and retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital after many years.  After retiring, Emma continued to work for ABM Parking. Preceded in death by her parents Hudson and Margaret Burkett; siblings: Major Burkett, Betty Burkett, Hudson Burkett Jr. Kenneth Burkett, Lawrence Burkett and special cousin Sonny Kidd. Emma leaves behind two sons: Charles Mitchell Jr., Rashad (Cheryl) Jamall.  brother Jerry (Alberta) Burkett;  ten grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and she  was loved by many and including close friends Terry Latson, Vanessa Cossey, Loretta Moore and Louise Gentry.
