Eloise Chatman answered the call of her Lord and Savior peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. She was born on October 29, 1943. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother she cherished her family and friends and loved spending time with them at amusement parks and family reunions. She also enjoyed playing bingo and cooking. Eloise was often the life of the party and her infectious laugh would fill the atmosphere. Eloise is preceded in death by her late husband Ralph Chatman, Mother Janie Mae McDay, father Ernest McDay, brother Alfred McDay,  sisters Willa Mae McDay and Evelyn Bennett and great granddaughter British Jeffery. She is survived by her children Denise (late-Reginald) Carter, Patricia, Anthony, Janie and Josephine Jeffrey, Tracy Weems and LaQuata Williams; step-Son Gerald Hammock, sisters, Gloria Brown and Henrietta McDay, 17 grandchildren 25 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, 15 nieces and 28 nephews, her best friend of 63 years Geraldine Greene and a host of family and friends.
