Elder Cecil Everett at age 90 went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 5, 2022. He was born on February 17, 1931, in Nashville, TN. He received his education in the Public School System in Nashville. Elder Everett served faithfully at Kings Temple Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Nashville where he accepted Christ as Lord and Savior. On September 22, 1954, he married Margaret LaFaye Banks (R.I.P). To this union, four children were born. The family relocated to Canton, OH in 1955. Elder Everett was employed at Canton Drop Forge and then at Sears until he retired. In 1968, Elder Everett heard the voice of God and founded New Life COGIC (Massillon, OH) where he pastored for 46 years.

Elder Everett was a devoted husband and father. He loved God and enjoyed spending time with his wife and children. Prior to Margaret's transition home, the two enjoyed traveling the country in their RV with their grandchildren. He loved to cook on the grill for his family and even created his own special BBQ sauce. He liked dogs and also enjoyed watching Westerns. One of his favorite songs was "I Know The Bible is Right."

He leaves to cherish his legacy, children Victoria (John Inman) Inman, Victor D (Johnnie Mae), Everett, Bashan (R.I.P.) (Valeria) Everett, Peter (Chelimo) Everett, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his three brothers. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
