Cain, Jr.
December 4, 1955 – December 31, 2023
Edwin O. Cain Jr. was the first child born to Edwin and Mary Cain, On December 4th, 1955, in Akron, Ohio. He attended Schumacher elementary, Perkins junior high, and Buchtel high school. He left Akron to attend the Job Corps and be trained in carpentry. Shortly after that, he joined the US Marine Corps. He was employed after his service in the Marine Corps by RB Stout, Barberton Citizens Hospital, Holiday Inn, and several Companies as a carpenter.
While on leave he met and married Vergenia Wilkerson in Washington, Georgia. To that union one child was born Yalanda C. Cain. He returned to Akron later, years after living in Florida and Texas, and meeting Teresa Tatum. They gave birth to Edwin O. Cain II. He was raised and baptized in Wesley Temple AME Zion Church. He later joined, Reverend Hosea's Church in Copley, Ohio.
Edwin really, really, loved his cousins he was known around Akron as Punkin, Fast, Fast Eddie, Cain. He was a man of many talents. He loved fishing, biking, winter sports, horseback riding, and most of all drawing and music. He built his parents retirement home.
Edwin was preceded in death by his father Edwin O. Cain Sr.
He leaves his precious memory to mother, Mary K. Cain; children, Yalanda C. (Deandre), Edwin O. (Shyanne); brothers, Deric (Latasha), and Doran (Terri); sister, Karmella; grandchildren, Jason Boykins, Michael Davis, Kalyana Cooper, Kartir Adams, Edwin Cain IV, ShyAiree Moss; great grandchildren, Kariyae Rogers; step children, LyShoun and Monife Cain, Gary, Mike, and Montoya Tatum; Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
