A wonderful Soul has left a void in all our lives for us to emulate the footprints to follow on our Earthly Journey.

Edgar Robert Fenner Jr., known as Robert, was born in Passaic, New Jersey, to the Late Dr. Edgar Robert Fenner Sr. (deceased) and his proud mother Ophelia Averitt. He had sister Caroline Fenner (deceased). Robert graduated from Buchtel High School and from Kent State University with a major in History and a minor in Social Studies. While at Kent State, he met the lovely Wilma-Gloria Rush, who was attending the University of Akron. After a period of courtship, they married, and from their union came their twin sons, Timothy and Thomas Fenner. One of the highlights of their parents' life was when Tim and Tom received their master's degrees in public administration and education, reaching their goals of helping others throughout the community where they lived. He was also an avid bowler and was recognized by the American Bowling Congress for achieving a perfect 300 game.

Robert grew up in Wesley Temple AME Zion Church. He looked at all jobs as a service to God and mankind, serving on many committees such as Trustee, Class Leader, Sunday School teacher or providing transportation for member to get back and forth to church just to name a few. Volunteering and helping others known as his mission in life. He was truly a Christian man that God called.

Whereas: He was a Life Member of the NAACP, a true civil rights worker, he was effective in helping others. Robert was a Supervisor for the Adult Parole Authority for the State of Ohio, others referred to his job as his mission to help others throughout Ohio and the community.

Whereas: He was quiet with a meaningful substance, always thinking of others as his greatest mission. He loved reading and trusted in God to lead him and clear a path for him to follow to make the world a better place for all.

Whereas: Robert belonged to the Tire Town Golf Club. He discovered a passion for golf, it became his primary pastime. As he traveled around the country, he found young people and college students taking a passion for sports. The group formed a sports scholarship donation for teenager/college students. He found there was a need to help the youth as they pursue a quality life focusing on their education.

Whereas: Robert served as Treasurer in the National Alabama Club, encouraging others to stay active by walking, exercising, and reading helping their physical and mental health wherever he went.

Whereas: Robert was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Edgar R. Fenner Sr.; his stepfather, Andy Averitt; his sister Caroline Fenner; his aunts and uncles, Cora and Hershel Cole; and Matthew Simon Sr. and Doris, along with other beloved family members.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Wilma Gloria Fenner; his sons, Timothy, and Thomas Fenner; and his mother, Ophelia Averitt. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, granddaughter, Taylor Wright Fenner; Godchild Matthew Hardy, nephew Ricky Simon and his family, family secretaries Emma Smith and Dawn Edwards, and other cherished family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.
