Eddie Lee Lenzy Sr., 78, of Canton, Ohio was suddenly called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 31, 2020. He was born on April 9, 1942 in Dale, Arkansas to the union of Hezekiah and Annie Ruth Lenzy. Eddie relocated with his family to Canton, Ohio in 1946. He attended Trump Elementary School and Canton South High School where he was a member of the basketball team. After high school Eddie served in the U.S. Army and on November 22, 1963 he married Ella Mae Wilson of Canton. During his life Eddie worked as an auto mechanic at Eppy's Chevrolet, Ewing Chevrolet and Bowling Used Cars until retirement. Later in life he worked as an addiction counselor at the Lenzy Family Institute. Eddie enjoyed being with family, fishing, and playing the lottery. He made everyone who knew him feel like family and was loved by many.
Eddie is preceded in death by his father Hezekiah Lenzy, his wife Ella Mae Lenzy; brothers, Robert and James Earl Lenzy; sister, Annie Jewel Lenzy; son, Marcus Steven Lenzy, and granddaughter Capri Lenzy.
Eddie is survived by five children, Angela Womack of Canton, Edward Lee (Kimberly) Lenzy Jr. of Massillon, Tabitha (Kenny) Jones of Atlanta, GA., Gwendolyn Lenzy of Jacksonville, FL., and Keisha Reese of Canton. He is also survived by his mother Annie Ruth Lenzy of Canton; brothers, Melvin (Wanda) Lenzy Sr., John (Robin) Lenzy all of Canton, Charles (Felichia) Lenzy of Fairfield Township, Ohio; sisters, Maxine (Elder Perry Jr.) Morgan of Southfield, MI, Elizabeth Lenzy and Rose Lenzy of Canton, Jo Ann Lenzy of Indianapolis, IN, Paulette Renee Lenzy of West Orange, NJ and Pauline Denise (Orlando) Crockett of Chillicothe, Ohio. He leaves a legacy of 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild and a host of many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
