Obituary

Douglas Lee, also known as Dad, Goose, Sonny Boy, Granddad, Uncle Doug, and Doug, was born in Akron, Ohio to Willie and Mary Lee on May 16, 1949.

Douglas was a resident of Akron, Ohio for 77 years. Douglas attended Buchtel High School, graduate of 1968, where he was a high school basketball star. He played starting Varsity all four years of his high school career. Shortly after high school Douglas joined the US Airforce, and was stationed in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Pope Air Force Base, where he actively served for four years.

Douglas loved spending time with family and friends. He loved watching basketball, action movies, playing poker with his brother, hand dancing, and jammin' on his tambourine. Douglas enjoyed staying physically active, holding a membership for over 35 years with Balch Street Community Center.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents Willie and Mary Lee.

Douglas leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Somme Lee and Jasmine Moss (Brandon); sons, Douglas Lee II (Ingrid) and Lamont Freeman; (4) siblings- brothers, Willie Lee Jr. (Doris); sisters, Marva Fletcher, Brenda McKnight (Gregory), and Sylvia Baxter; (10) grandchildren, Jordan, Sean, Cameron, Jenoah, Braylon, Brandon, Bailey, Arielle, Alex, and Landon. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his former wife, Jacqueline Lee, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
