Dorothy Y.
Dubose
August 18, 1948 – April 27, 2024
Dorothy Yvonne Dubose (lovingly known as "Diddy") was born August 18, 1948 in Akron, Ohio. She made her transition from labor to reward on April 27, 2024. Dorothy was the sixth of nine children born to Emmanuel and Thelma Dubose. She attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from North High School. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and babysitting for her family and friends. She was known for her fried chicken and fixing a grand breakfast because that is the meal she loved the most. Dorothy loved to clean and she will always be remembered for her fashionable style of dress, which was color coordinated from head to toe. She had a great sense of humor and would make you laugh until you cried. She was confident and loyal, especially to her family and friends and her favorite phrases were "you better ask somebody" and "I'm a little piece of leather, but I'm well put together."
Dorothy was preceded in death by both parents Emmanuel and Thelma Dubose; brother, Robert Dubose; sisters, Aretta Dubose-Earley, Betty, Shirley and Patricia Dubose; grandson, Jaison Everett Ragsdale, Jr.
She is survived by her loving daughter; Lynetta Dubose; brother, Richard Dubose; sisters, Carolyn Moore and Karen Peoples; granddaughter, Jainia Ragsdale; great granddaughter, Charlee Monae Davis; special friend, Frank Fitzgerald and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace and may her memory continue to remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be truly missed.
