Diane
Solomon
September 20, 1956 – July 12, 2025
Diane Solomon transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday July 12, 2025, at the Summa Health Akron Campus.
Diane was born on September 20, 1956. She was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. She attended the University of Akron but postponed her educational pursuits to become a devoted mother of three (3). She later resumed her studies at the Wooster Business College.
Diane embraced a career in light industrial work. She worked at Goodwill Industries for nearly a decade, Allside Plastics and later GoJo's Industries until she retired. She loved music, books and the working for the Lord. Down through the years, she served as an usher, the church clerk, was a member of the nurse's guild, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school. Though timid, she was gracious and always served with humility. As a daughter, sister, mother, and friend, Diane was a beacon of light to all who knew her.
Diane was preceded in death by her grandparents Ada and James Solomon, Queen Esther and Eugene Wallace, her parents Sarah and Henry Solomon Sr. her stepmother Mary Solomon, and her brothers Henry Lee Jr. and Anthony Perry Sr.
Diane is survived by her sisters Deborah West, Victoria Wilson-Wilder, Margo Vinson (Willie) and Daphne Wallace, all of Akron; her children Taraji Pugh, Dathon Solomon, and Samantha Solomon, her granddaughter Allanyah Jasmine Solomon-Louis, special friend James Slagle, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
