Derrick D Travis, age 29, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Monday, March 15, 2021. He was born to Trina McGavock and Derrick Waters on March 9, 1992 in Akron, OH. Derrick is a graduate of East High School and was a committed employee at AJAX. He loved playing video games (teaching Minecraft to Christopher and TJ and calling Sir Charles at 3 o'clock in the morning) and spending as much time as he could with family including his close cousin, Chimere Jackson and best friend and companion, Krystal Greenlee.

Derrick was a pure soul who was a loyal friend, an awesome son, a caring uncle, a great brother, and a dedicated caretaker (TT made sure of that!). Derrick always found himself as the voice of reason. Never arguing or speaking negatively about anyone, even if they deserved it.

Although he had just began to live, he has always been a free spirit. Not caring about being in his boxers (for his comfort) or falling asleep mid sentence. Derrick loved his family and people in his life hard and that showed in his actions and words.

He leaves to mourn his mother, Trina (Craig) McGavock; brothers, Christopher (Jessica) Travis and Sir Charles (Khadijah) Travis; sisters, Katrina Travis, D'Asia Waters, and DeZhana Waters. Grandparents, Rev. Christine Travis, Connie Travis Sr. (Pops) and Doris Pickett. Derrick also leaves his aunts, Nannette, Carolyn, Sherry, Audrey, & Kristen. His uncles Preston, Brian, & Dion. Along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and so many friends. He held so many in high regards that we can't name them all.
