Derrick Jackson, 52, was called to his heavenly home on January 7, 2019. He was born on May 12, 1964 and was a lifetime resident of the Akron community. After high school graduation he joined the US Navy and trained in Mechanical Engineering to repair and build airplane engines.  Following his honorable discharge he was hired by Lockheed Martin to continue to repair and build airplane engines and had a passion for building race cars. He was later employed by Rolls Royce for the same. Derrick was a member of The Bethel 7th Day Adventist Church. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Everhart andMurray Nell Jackson; brothers, Anthony and Michael Jackson, he leaves to cherish his memory, sister, Crystal Diane Jackson-Dickens; brother, Gregory Jackson; nieces, Amber Woolfolk and Angelica Hargrove; nephew, Angelo James; uncle, Richard Jackson; aunts, JoAnn Neal and Nerma Darlene Grimes, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
