Derek Daval Green, age 53, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 4, 2021, following a brief illness.  Derek was born November 28, 1967 to Barbara and the late John H. Green of Canton, Ohio.

Derek served in the U. S. Army with honor, pride, and distinction. He was a fireman in Bloomington, Illinois until he relocated to Ohio.  He was also employed by Indian River Juvenile Detention Center until his health began to decline.  Derek will be truly missed, he was loved by all who knew him.

Derek is survived by his mother, Barbara Green; he was a proud father of two children, Dominic and Tianna Green, both of Standard, Illinois; (2) brothers, Dennis D. Green and Daniel D. Green; special friend who held his hand until he transitioned, Marque Smith, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
