Delphia Mae Elizabeth Johnson born April 12, 1947 went home to be with the Lord and Savior Wednesday August 26, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Carthage, North Carolina. Delphia was a vibrant and robust woman; she was full of flavor and life. After 30 years of employment she retired from the Timken Company in 1999. She continued on to enjoy her life caring for children and spending time with family. An avid listener of gospel music, Delphia had a passion for and dedicated herself to fellowship with others. A genuine soul she opened her heart to be a confidant and rock to those she loved. Just as a diamond the many facets of Delphia reflected the colorful light that was her personality and spirit. She will be remembered and for all of that she was, Love. Delphia was the first born of three children and preceded in death by her father, Robert Earl Tyson, mother Clarretia Tyson and great-nephew Tyrese Campbell. Delphia leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Sophonia (Darwin) Martin, two grandchildren, Brittany Anthony and William Quincy Jr., two great-grandchildren, Eric Nance Jr. and Sophia Anthony, two sisters Carolyn (Jessie) Pitts and Patricia (Keith) Woodson, three special nieces, Teresa Tyson, Angelia (Michael) Demree, and Michelle Tyson. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
