Delilah J. Davis' Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Delilah Joy Davis, who exchanged mortality for immortality on Tuesday May 21st surrounded by her loving family. She was a woman of devout faith and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with loved ones.

Delilah was born on April 20, 1964 in Alliance, Ohio to Carl and Dorothy Lawson Sr. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1982. She furthered her education at the University Of Akron and Case Western Reserve where she received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees. During her college years in Akron she was a faithful member of the Black United Students and University of Akron Gospel choir where she established many life long friendships. Delilah served as a foster home coordinator for Summit County Children's Services. She began her career there in 1993. She was known for her infectious personality, incredible laugh, and most importantly as a woman of great faith.

Along with spending time with family, Delilah enjoyed bible studies and traveling. She was blessed to take her family to Disney world and explore Europe in 2019 as Ariana studied abroad in Spain.

Delilah is survived by the Love of her life, her husband of 35 years, Arian Davis. She made it known of Arian's  amazing caretaking abilities and  expressed her immense gratitude for his patient and loving care. Through their union she was blessed with 3 amazing children, twins Dexter (Carlie) and Desmond (Lillian) and daughter Ariana (known affectionately as her Air Bear) and 3 beautiful grandchildren Desmond Jr (DJ), Layla, and Denver. She was ever present and very active in her children's and grandchildren's lives and activities.

Left here on earth to cherish her memory is her mother Dorothy Lawson, mother in law Mamie Davis siblings: Carl Lawson Jr and his wife Shanna, brother Robbie, sister Serena Williams and her husband Pariece, sister Sarita Hill and her husband Aaron Sr, brother Freddie and sister in law Danica Clemons along with a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Carl Sr. and Father in law JD Davis.

We will celebrate Delilah's life with a homegoing service on Friday May 31st at her home church United Baptist Church 1007 S. Hawkins Ave, Akron , Ohio 44320. Calling hours are 10am-12pm and funeral services immediately following. To honor Delilah she would ask that you get to know Christ and share Him with others.
