Deacon Theion
O. Feaster
July 14, 1945 – October 19, 2024
Deacon Theion O'Neal Feaster, lovingly known as "Gooney," transitioned from labor to reward on October 19, 2024, surrounded by his cherished family and loved ones. Born on July 14, 1945, Akron, OH Theion was the beloved son of late O'Neal Williams Sr. and Maedora Boware.
A dedicated student, Theion graduated from Central High School at the impressive age of sixteen and soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country with pride as a sergeant before returning to Akron, where he met Linda Mitchell, the woman who would become his devoted wife of 53 years. Together, they raised a family of four daughters— DeShania, DeLondia, Deirdre, and Deleshia—creating a legacy of love and support as he embodied the ultimate "girl dad."
Throughout his career, Theion demonstrated unwavering commitment to providing for his family. He first worked at BF Goodrich for over 19 years until its closure, then held simultaneous roles at Summa Hospital and Chrysler Corporation, before ultimately dedicating 20 years to Ford Motor Company, from which he retired in 2008. Known as a "jack of all trades," Theion could fix almost anything and was admired for his mastery in the kitchen, particularly his grilling, along with his love of fishing, roller skating, and playing cards, especially Spades and Bid Whist.
In addition to his remarkable professional life, Theion's heart was deeply rooted in his faith and community. A devoted member of Livingstone Apostolic Church since 1982, he served faithfully as a deacon, trustee, bus driver, and camera operator. His kindness and dedication were well-known to all who sought his guidance and support, and his actions truly reflected his commitment to God's word. Theion lived his life as a shining example of Christian love, humility, and dependability, touching countless lives in the process.
A man of quiet strength, Theion's presence filled any room with warmth, wisdom, and humor. Fondly called "Boogaloo" by friends and colleagues, he was always ready with a calming word, a "dad joke," or a helping hand. His family and friends knew him as Godly, humble, and hardworking—traits that will be cherished and missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Preceded in death by his parents, O'Neal Williams Sr. and Maedora Boware; brothers, Jesse Boware and O'Neal Williams Jr.; brothers-in-law, Lonnie Mitchell and Lowell Dixon; and granddaughter Angel Law, Theion leaves behind a legacy filled with love and family. He is survived by his beloved wife Linda Feaster; his daughters, DeShania (Cameron) Powell, DeLondia Feaster, Deirdre Williams, and Deleshia (Franklin) Fitzgerald, all of Akron, Ohio. He also leaves his brother, Melvin (Yong) Boware; sisters Sylvia (Michael) Harrison, Vonceil (Michael) Lucart, Diane Boware, Jacqueline Boware, Betty Jean Dixon, and Sue Ellen Boware, Theresa (Tony) Lindsey; his grandchildren, Alonte, Cameron, Dillon, Chynia, DeLonda, and Autumn; great-grandchildren, Gisselle, Harley, Nova, Kennedy, Dillon Jr., Devon, D'Andre, and Da'Mario; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will carry his memory forward in their hearts. Theion's life was a testament to his faith, love, and dedication to family, and his legacy will forever be remembered with a standing ovation for a life well lived.
