David L
Rowland
July 26, 1958 – July 6, 2025
David Lawrence Rowland was born in Akron, Ohio on July 26, 1958, to Ruth Love-Jacobs and David Lawrence Burton and was raised by Eula and James Rowland. David passed from this life on July 6, 2025, at the age of 66 peacefully surrounded by family.
David resided in Akron, Ohio for the majority of his life, where he attended Buchtel High School. He was raised and immensely loved by Eula and James Rowland, who guided him through life. In December of 1979 he went on to marry his former spouse Katrina McDaniel-Rowland and had 2 daughters, Shawntia and Shannon. Years later he met Anita Gates, and they welcomed a daughter name Dominque. Later on in life he met Rosemary Jones, and they united a family with daughters, Nataya and Natasha and son, Jasper aka Rocc. At his time of passing, he was engaged to Tina Whims. He was a man of many talents. He mastered martial arts, where he earned his third degree, black belt. He was also involved in kick boxing, wrestling and fought in the tough man competitions and won many of them. He and his best friend (Aljavaughn) formed a band named Tons of Soul which was later named Spectrum, then finally named Sabre. His work ethic was impeccable, mechanic, security guard, equipment manager, and housekeeper, just to name a few. He took most pride in and dedicated 29 years of working beside and with his boss and good friend Ranell Minear at the South Akron Awning Co. David was a pillar in his community, where he respectfully earned the name "Mission Man". He had a heart of gold and would give you his last if that's all he had left to give. One of his proudest moments in life was giving his life to the Lord and being proudly baptized. He was a hero of many. He fought hard in life and for his life up until his very last breath. He loved being surrounded by family and friends. He will be truly missed, FOREVER loved, and NEVER FORGOTTEN. A true legend has gained his wings. May his soul continue to Rest In Peace. "Well Deserved".
