David Jerome Thornton, 61, went home to be with the Lord January, 2018.  David was born on August 22, 1956 to the late Ramona Thornton and Harvey Parks in Comer, Georgia.  In his early years he served in the United States Army.  After an honorable discharge from the Army he worked alongside his mother in their family owned bakery "Ramona & Sons.  David was a dedicated employee of Heinz Frozen Foods. He was very artistic and always dressed to the nines.  David enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Bernice Thornton.  He leaves to cherish his memories his fiancée, Glenda Murray; brothers, Cornell Parks, Nelson Parks, and Shawn Parks; and special friend, Janell Griffith as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
