Darryl Moore,
Jr.
October 13, 1978 – February 17, 2025
The name Darryl means beloved, and he was just that.
On October 13, 1978, the lives of Darryl Sr. and Mary Moore were forever changed when they welcomed the birth of their only child, their son Darryl Moore Jr . Soon after his birth, his mom gave him the nickname Meep (after a little sound he made when he cried) and the name stuck.
Darryl graduated from Glen Oak High School in 1997, and soon thereafter he began his career at Nortec (Northern Can). Darryl was blessed with 27 years employment at Nortec, through all its many iterations into Sonoco, as it is known today. Darryl worked many extra days on his job and was something of a troubleshooter when problems with the machinery arose.
The highlight of Darryl's life was the 2013 birth of his daughter Adrienne Bernice Moore, whom he named in honor of his paternal grandmother. After Adrienne's birth, Darryl and his parents were in bliss.
Darryl's other pursuits included weight lifting at his fitness center and being the IT specialist for was his parents.
Darryl will be missed by Adrienne and her mother, Lauren Richardson, and by Adrienne's siblings Abby, Ashleigh, Noah, and Sebastian, all of whom are loved and cherished by the Moore family.
Darryl is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Catherine Wooten; his paternal grandparents Willie L & Bernice Moore; his uncle Reginald Moore; his aunt Kathryn Young, and his great uncle Pastor Joe Anderson.
He is survived by his parents Mary & Darryl Moore Sr., his daughter Adrienne, his uncle Gregory Moore, his aunts Shawna Moore, Darlene Thomas, Charlene Bradley and Josephine Bryant, and his great aunt Carol Ann Anderson. He will be missed by his many cousins, other family members, and friends. Darryl's parents wish to acknowledge his special friend Rhonda Easton.
Darryl was known for his wit and sense of humor. He was a kind, hard working man, and a devoted father.
Darryl- -you will be missed.
