Daron Aunshai
Davis, Sr.
October 3, 1996 – May 10, 2024
Daron Aunshai Davis, Sr., born on October 3, 1996, was the son of Jonetta Ross and Damon Daron Davis in Canton, OH.
Daron was a graduate of the Canton McKinley Senior High School, class of 2015. After high school, he went on to attend the Ohio State University, on a full academic scholarship through the Ohio State Young Scholars program, where he studied Human Development.
Daron was a different kind of smart student. He worked several jobs, including: Two Men and a Truck, Amazon, Boys & Girls Club; and he recently started working in his uncle's real estate business (Blue Lion) learning to purchase, repair and resell homes. He had found his passion at age 27, and knew this was something he would love to do. He looked forward to purchasing a home for himself and his family.
Daron was a lover of sports, especially basketball. Not only could he play the sport, but he could go head to head with players from all areas. He loved to talk his talk when on the court because he was that guy. Everything he did, he did with confidence; and if he didn't think he could you wouldn't know it.
Outside of playing basketball, Daron's number one passion was spending time with his family. Arynn was his everything; and you bet not look at her sideways because Daron was gonna get you "LOL"! Daron loved when he became a father. His daughter, Mia, was his best friend. He was a girl dad and she was a daddy's girl. His son, D2 (or Fat Man), was his true twin. Not only did they share the same name, but he was Daron's best birthday gift because he was born on Daron's birthday.
Daron loved family. When he was around you knew you were in for a good time. He loved cracking jokes and going back and forth about sports; especially over a good home cooked meal made by his favorite aunt, Lisa or Arynn.
Daron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gwendolyn Ross, Lawrence Siler, Florence Moore, and Alice Hatley; his aunt, Tongala Siler; and his uncles, Rinaldo Siler and Anthony Ross.
He is survived by his parents, Jonetta Ross, Damon (Malissa) Davis; his fiancé, Arynn Nance; his children, Daron Davis, Jr., (aka: Fat Man) and Mia Davis (aka: Ms. Mia K); siblings, De'Shawn White, Taylor Davis of Alabama and Wilquonta Bailey of Tennessee; grandparents, DeAdra Davis, James "PawPaw" Davis of Detroit, MI, Anne Bell of Cleveland, OH, and Catherine Siler; aunts, Venus Siler, Tamika Siler, Shalanda Ross of San Antonio, TX and Caprese Siler of Houston, TX; uncle, Vincent (Michon) Siler of Centerville, VA; special aunts and uncles, Alicia (Michael) Wright, Sr., Kenya Davis of Detroit Michigan; Edward Williams, and Robert Hogsett; special cousins (like a brother): Mike Wright, Jr. (aka: JRock) and Mike Watson; best friends, Marquis Gaines, Isaiah Hogsett, Jalen Roby, Darrius Hampton and Nnaemeka Anene; god sisters, Tanazia Redrick, Jewelle Redrick, Ashley Hardy, Ciara Davenport, and Perazia Smith; god brothers, Ronald Hardy and Cose Smith; bonus aunts, Tasha Bradley, Schevon Dawson, Twanna Campbell-Thompson and Estella Averette; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
