Cynthia was born in Hazard, Kentucky, to Clydie D. Benson and James M. Benson. At age 76, she passed away peacefully, at home. Cynthia discovered her passion for teaching children as a child being only one of what would later be twelve children; she spoke fondly of her childhood growing up in the holler. However, living in the Jim Crow South came with lots of challenges, and so the Bensons moved to Ohio. A few years later, she married Willie Edward Price on August 6, 1965, and graduated from North High School thereafter. Then, furthering her education, becoming a graduate of Stark State College class of 97'. Once settled into her specialty, Cynthia worked for 20 years as an educator for the Akron Public School system. Where she displayed a wonderful knack for teaching children with special needs. Creative, reserved, hard-working, funny, and contemplative with a servant's heart. She had an awe-inspiring ability to reach people in a deeply meaningful way. She had no fear only excitement. Because she knew who and what she was, a true believer in Christ. "The Lord only loaned me to you for a little while; I won't be here forever," she'd say. "This life is temporary, so we must make the best of it while we can. Cause when the Lord calls, I'm going". She wanted to die at home, in her sleep, surrounded by her loved ones. She'd say it like she was putting in an order at a restaurant, and on Sunday, November 10th, she got her prayer.  She was preceded in death by her parents Clydie, James, and Vallie Her husband of 46 years: Willie Edward Sr. A son: J.T. Four brothers: Kenneth, James Edward, John, and Cornelius A granddaughter: Jermie Cynthia's memory will remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her remaining loved ones. 6 Siblings: Clarance, Vincent (Ulius), Wanda (Gabriel), Phyllis, David, Richard, Tamara 3 Children: Towanda, Cheryl, Willie 3 Children of the Heart: Ingrid, Margaret, and Keith (Tamatha) 1 Godson: Brandon 10 Grandkids: Aleta, Aron (Saleema), Gia, Joshua, Kateisha, Warren, Zeana, Helen, Samantha, Amanda 14 Great-Grands: Amerah, Eleana, D'Asia, Zreaha, Jonathan, Arianna, Darrell, Aaliyah, Nevaeh, Willie, Niree, Aron Jr., Matrix, Akasha And many many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Cynthia touched are invited to celebrate her transition at Rhoden Memorial Home.
