Cornelia E Deck, 97, passed away on October 23, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by her children. Cornelia, a native of Asheville, NC, was born April 28, 1926, to John Turman and Sadie Maude Finley. She was married on June 27, 1946, for 54 years to Everett W Deck, Sr. and together raised five children. Cornelia moved to Akron, OH in 1962. She joined     Antioch Baptist Church in 1964 and joined the Usher Board under the leadership of Rev. William C. Upshaw and graduated from The School of Ushering in 1984. She was a highly esteemed church member dedicated to servicing her church in many capacities, including    working on The Kitchen Committee, Corresponding Secretary for the ICUA, President of The Usher Board, President of the Mack Group as well as serving as Secretary & Treasurer of The Usher Board where she served for over 40 years. She retired from Ushering on March 31, 2015. Her daily motto was to "Do something to the best of her ability to help make someone's life better".  She was preceded in death by her parents, John Turman and Sadie Maude Finley, her husband of 54 years Everett N. Deck Sr, five sisters, Lillian King, Mary Hadden, Dorothy Robinson, Pauline Worthy and Minni Walker. She leaves to mourn her passing with great love and compassion her three daughters Hester Deck, Pauletta  Goodwin (Alex) of Akron, OH and Jeanette Cooper (James-Deceased) of Hephyibah, GA, two sons, Everett, W, Deck Jr. and Kenneth H Deck of Akron, OH,12 grandchildren 24 great grandchildren and a host of great greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews one sister, Dolores Bryson of Dayton OH who will always share special memories of her undying love.                                                                            Her dear and close friend, Mrs. Mary Mitchell, Ms. Emma Smith, Mrs., Patricia Allen, Mrs. Jimmy, Bailey and Mrs. Zenobia Latham
