Corine
Nix-Chambers
June 13, 1952 – April 2, 2017
My journey began on June 13, 1952 in Coatopa, Alabama to the union of the late Marshall Moore and the late Lela Russell – Nix. I am the sixth of eleven children born to the late Lela Russell-Nix. At an early age I confessed a belief in Christ in Coatopa, Alabama. I was educated in Belmont Elementary School and graduated from Livingston High School. Afterward I moved to Waukegan, Illinois and then later to Canton, Ohio. Where I resided until present. I worked for The Stark County Community Action Agency Head Start Program as a dispatcher for many years and then later as a school bus driver. I loved cooking, cleaning and loved serving the Lord. In my spare time I served as an Usher and Treasurer at my church (Mount Olive Baptist Church) . I served with dignity and a willingness for the Lord. I enjoyed meeting and greeting people. Most of all I enjoyed listening to the Word of God and good spiritual gospel music. Some of my favorites are Mount Olive Baptist Church Choir, The Alabama Spirituals, The Mississippi Mass Choir, The Williams Brothers, Yolanda Adams, and Donnie McClurkin, just to name a few. I Love The Lord! I am happy that I shared many years enjoying my life. Even though sickness came in a timely manner. I endured to the end the love of my family, friends and most of all the love of God protected me and shielded me with that comfort that only God can give. The peace of God kept me. Amen. I leave to mourn my transition my (3) daughters, Veronica Nix-Massey, Paulette Nix both of Canton, Ohio, and Robyn Chambers of Columbus, Ohio; (4) grandsons, Brandon, Courtlin, and DeQuan Nix all of Canton, Ohio and David Williams of Columbus, Ohio; (1) very special granddaughter, I call her "Honey Comb", Braylynn Nix of Canton, Ohio; (1) great-granddaughter, LaNae Roberts of Columbus, Ohio; my (4) brothers, Joseph Lee Nix (Mattie), Bennett Nix (Rosie), Selton Nix, Jr. all of Waukegan, Illinois and Ronald Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio; my (3) sisters, Wyomnia Phelps-Coleman of Waukegan, Illinois, Doris Nix Hill, (Bernard) of Livingston, Alabama and Deborah Nix Stinson (Rod) of Detroit, Michigan; (1) aunt, Ruby Clark of Bellamy Alabama; my step-mother, Rose Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, my church family, and neighbors.
