June 7, 1934 – January 1, 2017
Clayton David Nicholson, Jr. known wo many as "Pap", 82, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center. Clayton retired from the Timken Company in 1994 after 35.3 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during Korean Conflict Era and Peacetime. Clayton was an active member of Greater Bethel Apostolic Church. He was preceded in death by his mother Mabel Coney, his father Clayton D. Nicholson, Sr.; stepmother, Clara Nicholson. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Beverly Joyce Nicholson of McKinley Life Care Center; children, David Mitchell, Jill, Clayton D, III(Renee), Carolyn (Eric) Blackshear, Patty, Tracy, Pamela and Sherri Nicholson; grandchildren, Erika, Louisa Dawn, William Jeffery, Daphne, Carmella, Austin, Marcus and Matthew; (10) great grandchildren; stepchildren, Tracy, Eric and Jackie as well as step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; "adopted son", David Anthony; special friend, Copeland and numerous family and friends. The family will receive visitors Friday, January 6, 2017 from 6pm-8pm, Rhoden Memorial Home, 729 Cherry Ave. N.E., Canton, Ohio 44702. Services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10 am , Greater Bethel Apostolic Church, 2335 15th St. S.W., Canton, Ohio 44706. Family will receive visitors on Saturday from 9am until time of service. Interment will be held at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, 7920 Frank Ave NW, North Canton, OH 44720. Repast will immediately follow interment at Greater Bethel Apostolic. Condolences may be sent to the home of Carolyn & Eric Blackshear, 1440 Downing Ct. N.E., Canton, Ohio 44714. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Altercare of Noble Ponds and Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center.
