Claudette
Bivins
March 2, 1949 – October 23, 2024
Claudette Bivins, affectionally known as "Twin", was called to her eternal rest on October 23, 2024, at the blessed age of 75. She was born on March 2, 1949, in Akron, Ohio where she lived her entire life. She was the third child born, although she is 1 minute apart from her twin sister Claudia to the late Homer and Johnnie Mae (Mickey) Bivins, Sr. Her twin, Claudia, cared for her until her transition home. Claudette and Claudia were very close their entire lives and they went everywhere together.
She was educated in the Akron Public Schools System, graduating from South High School in 1967. Her higher education earned her an associate degree from the University of Akron. She worked many years at the Akron Urban League as a Counsellor and a Job Placement Officer.
Her relationship with the Lord started at an early age at Free Will Methodist Church. She was faithful with studying her Bible and in her young adult life she worked in the church, then finishing in her Bible class.
Claudette was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Johnnie Mae Bivins, Sr.; brothers, Duane, Brion and Ronald Bivins; nephew, Roland Bivins; niece, Alisa Bivins; great nephews and great nieces, Roland Williams, Alijah, Elajah, Eniyah and Amyah Bivins; grandparents, John and Clara Belle Harris; aunts and uncle, Dorothy Robinson, Vera Hearns, Audrey Heard, Roslyn Thompson-Hall, Ronald Harris and Claudia Caldwell; and great aunts, Claudia Bell and Edith Price.
To forever cherish her beloved memories, she leaves to sisters, Gloria Bivins and her identical twin, Claudia Pugh; two brothers, Homer Jr. and Apostle Terrance (Sheila) Bivins of Lorain, Ohio; 14 nieces and nephews; 16 great nieces and nephews; 18 great-great nieces and nephews; our family matriarch, Daisy Williams; and a host of other cousins, relatives and dear friends.
