Christine Horne was born to the late Fayette and Gertrude Hood on May 21, 1921 in Lancaster, South Carolina. She went home to be with the Lord at the blessed age of 93 on January 10, 2015.
She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where she attended Baltimore Public Schools, was employed by Montgomery Ward Department Stores for the duration of her working career, and was married to the late Slyvester Horne. Later, she moved to Canton, Ohio to assist her daughter, Barbara Massey, by becoming a caregiver for her six grandchildren, well into their teenage years. During her latter years, she returned to Baltimore, Maryland to live under the care of her daughter, Hazel West. She was a faithful member of Refuge Way of the Cross Church of Christ in Baltimore, Maryland and enjoyed being a part of their Senior Choir.
Her loved ones rejoice with her as she is reunited with her siblings, Edna Green, Annie Carter, Howard and Edward Hood; her children, Barbara C. Massey and Hazel West; her grandchildren Darrell, Anthony, and Wanda West.
Christine Horne leaves her legacy to her sister, Dorothy Carter; her grandchildren, Cynthia Williams, Sharon Jones (Carl), Artis Cobb (Dawn), Linda Burris (John), Blake Massey (Sherry) Todd Kelly, Donnell West, and Eric West; great grandchildren, Shaharra Turpin, Kamailh Cobb, Tiffany Kelly, Carl Jones, Kadeem Cobb, Justis Burris, Todd Kelly, Jr., Donnell (West), Jay (West), Patricia (West), Eric (West); as well as a multitude of great, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
