Obituary

Charles Thareton Elliott Sr. was born on July 4th 1952, in Canton, Ohio. He was the   second born child to parents, Hattie and David Elliott Sr. Charles attended Canton McKinley Senior High School where he was an award-winning basketball player.  After high school, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his Country honorably in South Korea.  While stationed in South Korea, he met and married his wife Suk Cha    on July 15th, 1976; to this union three children were born.  Upon retiring from the Army, Charles worked in various factories in the Canton area.  They included  Republic Steel, Winter Industries and most recently, Colfor Manufacturing.  While he was a man of few words, his drive to exceed expectations and strong work ethic were admired amongst his colleagues.  In his spare time, Charles had a passion for sports. He loved to follow his alma mater in basketball and   football.  Basketball was his first love, but he was also an avid fisherman who enjoyed the tranquility of the environment.  Charles Thareton Elliott, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 22nd at  Akron General Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hattie  and David, Sr.; his brother, David, Jr.; and his daughter Gennie. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Suk Cha Elliott; his children, Charles Elliott, Jr., Michael (Dara) Elliott, and Tabitha Waldrop; brothers, Rodney (Tina)  Elliott, Sr., Michael (Alvena) Elliott; sisters, Denise (Sam) McLeod and Cheryl  Richardson Torrence; grandchildren, Divine Elliott, Landon Elliott, Avaughni McMeans and Armani McMeans and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
