Charles leaves behind a legacy of family and community service. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Especially if they shared his love for travel, fishing, and photography. In 1971 in the effort to bring together two things that he loved, his son and photography he created C&V Studios. His studio prospered through hard work and perseverance, and it sustained his family until he retired.
His Commitment to community service is something he took great pride in; it was very evident with his involvement with the Big Brothers & Sisters of Greater Akron. In fact, his "Little Brother '' Cory Sharky is a relationship that lasts until this day. Another large part of his community service was his involvement as a lifetime member of the NAACP and a longtime member of the Masonic Family. He served in the Houses El Zerubbabel Court No. 5 Heroines of Jericho; Samos Chapter Order of Pythagorans; Royal Arch; The Prince Hall Grand Guild Heroines of the Templar Crusades; Eastern Star; Golgotha Guild No.4 and Golgotha Commandery No. 36. He was elected as the Most Worthy Grand Joshua for the state of Ohio, also Most Ancient Prince Hall Grand Court, and was Past Master of the Blue House in Phoenix Lodge No. 112. And because he brought forth great pride to the Eaves family name by virtue of his good work , good character and outstanding record of service the Mayor of the City of Akron, Don Plusquellic, did proclaim that March 25th was "Charles E. Eaves Day". Charles lived a full life doing the things he enjoyed most with the people he loved most. He will be truly missed.
