Carter Sanders Jr. was born on September 24, 1936 to the late Carter Sanders Sr. and Lottie Hopper in Decatur Illinois.  He went home to  be with the Lord May 24, 2021.

Carter was a high school graduate and worked for J&L Steel Company for over 30 years.  After retiring he gained employment as a door greeter at Walmart to keep himself active and busy.

He met his lovely wife Janetta Powell in December 1990, and they were united in holy matrimony on March 29, 1992.

In addition to his parents, Carter was preceded in death by his favorite cousin Paul Stubbs.

He leaves to cherish his memory his lovely wife of 29 years Janetta Sanders; stepdaughter, Ashley Lucius (John); daughters, Owedia Sanders, Gwendolyn Sanders; sons, Carter Sanders III (Tina), Randolph Sanders (Kameela), Roger Sanders, as well as a host of grandchildren, other family and friends.  Carter shared a close relationship with two of his grandchildren, Arius and Adonis due to location.

Carter never believed in saying "goodbye".  He always ended departures with saying "night night".  So now ware saying "goodbye" to you.
