Obituary

Carrie M. Sanders "Madear" was called to her Heavenly home on September 11, 2020.  She was born September 7, 1924 in Forkland, Alabama to the late Eli   Haywood and Charlotte Blump.

Carrie was an excellent cook.  She put "Love" in her cooking.  Carrie worked for many years at Breteans in the Mellet Mall.  She loved cop stories, gardening, and watching people out of her window.  Carrie was a stylish lady and dressed with class.  She loved the Lord and loved going to church until her health began to decline.  She loved  some good down home singing, good preaching, and a Holy Ghost good time!

In addition to her parents, Carrie is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Ulysses Sanders; her beloved children, Lucy (Rev. Lenon) Smith, Joseph (Acquanetta) Sanders; great-grandchildren, Lenise D. Smith, YoShawn Williams, and David Taylor; (7) sisters and (3) brothers; bonus daughter, Rose Turpin.

Carrie leaves to cherish her memories to her sisters, Mahalia Paige and Lula Mae Battle of Mobile, Alabama; brother, Clarence Haywood; grandchildren, (raised as son), Jamey (Toya) Sanders, Lenon (Kimberly) Smith Jr., Joey and Troy Sanders of Texas, Veronica (Joe) Singleton, Kracia D. Williams, Chamia McFarland, Delores Hill, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
