Carl Lester
Jackson “Pube”
March 13, 1942 – June 22, 2024
Carl L. Jackson was born March 13, 1942, in Canton, Ohio. He was an active father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a beloved brother and uncle. He was a faithful and loyal companion; and he consistently demonstrated his love and care for his friends.
Our dad was many things to many people. To quote Charlene Bradley, He was, "A magnificent and unique force in life". Self professed as, "The Pure Form", "The Solid Rock", "The One".
A true inspirer, our father achieved most of his accomplishments at a later age. He mastered the art of Taekwondo, receiving a black belt. He was a graduate of the University of Akron, receiving a degree in social service. Eloquent in speech, he is a published poet. Endowed with exquisite beauty, he was a model captured on many canvases.
Pube was a pillar of superior health. A vegetarian, gardener and workout enthusiast, he absolutely captured the fountain of youth. Full of wisdom and intellect, with every conversation we were left enlightened. His abilities will reside in us forever.
Carl Lester Jackson was preceded in death by his father, Berry Jackson; mother, Odessa L. Davenport; devoted stepfather, Charles H. Davenport, Sr.; former wife, Ossie M. Jackson; namesake, Carl L. Jackson, Jr.; brothers, Gilbert T. Davenport and Robert W. Davenport.
He leaves to cherish his imprinted memory, his life partner, Denise "Sam" Hill; his four daughters: Deirdre Brown and children, Antavia and Jerome; Tabatha Talley-Goines and son, Kyle (Meagan); Cerress Richburg and children, Kamae, Stephen, Diviniti, Unique, Beloved, Auletti and Caress; and Carletta (Lloyd) Mack and children, Solace, Bryce and Braden-Stone; siblings, Charles H. Davenport, Jr. (Pem), Nevada L. Wardlaw (Dr. Kevin), Charlene F. Bradley, Jerry G. Davenport (Sheila); eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews; and dear friends.
