Obituary

Cania Williams went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2020.   Our beautiful little baby, Cania Janelle DeOjean Williams was born on December 31, 2001She was a special baby.  At three months old, she was diagnosed with a defect in her heart but God and surgery made her like brand new.  All the struggles that she had in the beginning of her life, made her more caring and empathetic toward everyone she came in contact with.  She did not like for anyone to be sad around her .  Cania had the gift of making people laugh and forgetting all their troubles.   She loved babies and they loved her.  She had a love for music and displayed her soft soprano voice in the Union Baptist Youth/Children's Choir .  She had a very close bond with her grandmothers, Patty and Mona.  She was always with one or the other and you could often find her with either of  them at a church function or just spending time with them.  Cania loved the Lord and as an intercessor, she would let her light so shine.  To know her was to love her and she was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing.  She was unique and her genuine spirit had an impact on everyone she came in contact with.  Cania was  real and authentically her!  You could always find Cania in a brand new pair of "kicks", always  displaying her enormous shoe collection.  At a young age she would speak about owning a nursery, but as she grew and matured and saw what was happening in the world she decided that she wanted to become a probation officer.  She said it was because she wanted to help kids that were in trouble.  Cania had a heart of gold, she always helped in any capacity that she could, routinely helping at the Union Baptist Food Pantry, and always lending a helping  hand at all of her grandma Patty's events.   Helping others was her life's passion and she certainly fulfilled her purpose by doing just that.  Cania will forever be deeply cherished and  missed.

Preceded in death by her granddaddy, Jerry Williams; great-aunt, Carolyn Williams; uncle, Feldon "Butchie" Norwood Jr..
