Celebration of Love and Life
Bridgette Denise Woods
Bridgette, aka Ms. Thang, Bridgette girl, To da Bridge, Auntie Bridgette or Fat Lady which for some reason was her favorite nickname was born August 19th 1970. Bridgette received her shimmery wings on Thanksgiving day 2024 in the presence of family.
Bridgette was a current resident of Atlanta Georgia where she was a member of the Douglas County Special Olympics. Bridgette attended and graduated from Weaver High School where she was a proud cheerleader. Bridgette loved being independent and was once employed by Love Furniture and Burger King.
She was known as the life of the party. Bridgette loved to dress up, sing, dance and cook. Her dream was to have her own cooking show where others did the cooking and she labeled them as "the taste testers". Bridgette also enjoyed watching cooking shows and singing along to Motown's Greatest Hits. If there was music playing Bridgette was present with the best moves and unlimited energy to keep any party going. Bridgette was known for her sassy attitude and a smile that could light up a room. She had a few famous lines that we all knew to expect and we could quote them verbatim. Along with being boisterous and pleasant Bridgette was also "no non sense". She had a significant other affectionately known as "Charlie" and she was very vocal about Charlie being her person. Bridgette loved fashion and enjoyed putting together trendy combinations that were accompanied by a sassy runway walk and fashion show for anyone that was present.
Bridgette was both adored and enjoyed and anyone that crossed paths with her was greeted with either a great big hug or major attitude for missing her last birthday party. Bridgette loved loved loved birthdays and she was gifted with the ability of remembering the birthdays of dozens of family members and friends. Bridgette's birthday was always a huge celebration for everyone and she always began planning for the next celebration during the current event. Throughout the year she invited family, friends and strangers to her upcoming birthday celebration whether there were truly arrangements or not. Bridgette moved to Georgia in 2020 where the festivities continued to include new friends and family members that traveled from afar. Bridgette was a beacon of love and light and a true example that the pure at heart will see God.
She was proceeded in death by her mother Jeanette Woods, sister Barbara Woods and brother Brian Woods.
She was survived by her sister Bria Breaker (Stanley Breaker) of Atlanta Georgia, Brothers William Woods (Angie) and Brandon Woods of Akron, special nieces and nephews Natasha and Tierra Woods, Marquis Simpson (Heaven), Jade Coleman, Isaiah, Evan, Brandon, Xavier, Jaden, Neveah, Dillon, Lake Ivy, Jacarri and Jacai Anderson, as well as a host of beloved family member and friends.
