Bonnie J. (Becknell) O'Neal was born June 5, 1939 in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Joseph Becknell and Margaret Johnson-Becknell. She left her earthly vessel to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, September 17, 2021. She was proceeded in death by her husband Pastor James J. (Pete) O'Neal. Bonnie was a member of God Given Church of God in Christ and for the last two years was shepherded in Christ by Pastor John W. McIntyre Sr. of Community Life Church of God in Christ. She was a woman who loved the Lord, having served as the First Lady, of God Given Church of God in Christ for 10 years while her late husband served as the covering for the church. In remembrance of her late husband she began the James O'Neal Scholarship Fund (JOSF) at God Given Church of God in Christ. Bonnie also dedicated herself to the church early on as a Choir Director and Sunday School Teacher. She was a prayer warrior and faithful servant of the Lord. Mrs. O'Neal had a passion for baking, it was one of her favorite past times. She enjoyed most making cobblers and sweet potato pies. Just as much in her golden age, she took pleasure in browsing the isles at her local Walmart. Her first job was Fotomat, where she worked for 10 years. She was later employed by DLH Industries for 12 years, as well as Marc's for 5 years. Mrs. O'Neal also loved family specially her sons. She leaves to cherish her memories children: Edward A. (Jacqueline) O'Neal of Canton, Ohio and Vincent R. V. O'Neal of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Julia Barrett of Canton, Ohio; 7 grandchildren Taisha' Nicole O'Neal, Anthony Kirksey, Terrence O'Neal, Tremaine O'Neal, Moses O'Neal, ChaeVionn Card-O'Neal, Thomas Banks; 3 great grandchildren Zyian O'Neal, Cory Brown Jr., and Kirsten O'Neal. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. O'Neal will be gone from our presence, but will always remain in our hearts!
