L. Burgan, Sr.

The Honorable Bishop Ronald Lynn Burgan Sr. has transitioned into eternal Glory on Saturday December 04, 2021, in Canton, OH. Bishop was born December 27, 1959, in Boston, Massachusetts. He's the third son of five boys, born to Walter Sr. and Kathleen (Spencer) Burgan. He's been walking with the Lord for forty-seven plus years. Bishop Burgan graduated from Buchtel High School and became a shooting guard on the basketball team, then he was offered to transfer to North High School in Akron, OH. Bishop Burgan achieved academic excellence through courses at Akron University. He received his fellowship certificate in Ministry under Dr. Ruby Veal and Bishop Kevin D. McCraney at Refuge Tabernacle on October 7, 1987. Bishop also attended Aenon Bible College Institution of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World where he received his Elders license on November 12, 1997.
Bishop Married Lavonne D. (Robinson) Burgan on June 28, 1980, and to this union four children were born, (Chaunte' Burgan, Ronald Burgan II, Latoya Burgan, and Monica (Rushin) Burgan. Bishop Burgan was called to Pastor at the Sanctuary of Worship Apostolic Faith Church where he served faithfully for twenty-one years. He also became an ordained "Bishop" at F.A.W. under Guidance of Presiding Bishop Miller. Bishop Burgan in his tenure as a senior Pastor organized multiple outreach programs within his community. (Just to name a few); "Our hands to yours" for people that were in need, the Prison Ministry, and AA ministry, which he incorporated in his church. His wise counsel and his integrity have earned him great respect and love amongst many within the church and out of the church.
His memory and love will be cherished by his devoted wife of forty-one years; First Lady Denise Burgan of Canton, OH, his four children (Chaunte' Burgan, Ronald (Erica) Burgan II, Latoya Burgan, and Monica (Richard) Rushin, and his grandchildren, Ronald III, Starlynn, Eriyah', and Skyla. Bishop also leaves to mourn three brothers, Walter L. (Pamela) Burgan III in Orville, OH, District Elder Rudy D.(Carmella) Burgan in Barberton, OH, Joseph (Victoria) Burgan and Bishop Kevin D. (Charlotte) McCraney, and his sister Veda Burgan. His Aunts, Nellie Alexander, Claudine McCraney and a host of nieces, nephews, spiritual sons, and daughters as well as the Sanctuary of Worship family.
His employment was at The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, where he held multiple patents. While working at Goodyear, he held a job at Little Tikes, while also running his own business. He was an entrepreneur. He was the CEO of "Quality Touch" a cleaning and painting company. Everyone that knew Bishop, knew that he could not sit for too long. On his spare time, he volunteered to coach the "Spurs" at Summit Lake in Akron, OH. He also worked for "AWP" and at the Akron/Canton Airport.
