Betty Ann Jackson was born on April 7, 1944, to George and Lottie (Colson) Nash in Leesburg, Florida. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 4, 2024, at 80 years of age in Canton, Ohio surrounded by family. She gave her life to the lord at an early age. She sang in different groups such as Nash Sisters with her sisters in Leesburg FL, the Late Rev. Marvin Yancy, the Foundation of Joy Life Choir in Chicago IL., and the Knucklos Singers with her Sister (late) Willie Mae and (late) Vicky Jones at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ in Canton Ohio. Betty Ann was passionate about cooking, sewing, loving her family, and helping people as a community advocate. She was a true woman of faith as well as a powerful prayer intercessor. Betty Ann met and married Willie C. Jackson Sr. In this union, 4 children were born; and she gained 2 step sons and 1 step daughter. She graduated from Kennedy King College with an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. She moved to Ohio to help take care of her mother. She worked as a preschool teacher for many years in Chicago, Illinois. She worked and retired from Horn's Nursing Home. After retiring she was involved in her community. She served for 17 years as Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority (SMHA) Resident President, Stark County Community Action Agency (SCCAA) board member, and ICan Housing board member. She served 15 years as a Precinct Voting Poll Worker, 8 years as a Foster Grandparent in Canton City Schools, 8 years with summer programs with Canton City parks, 7 years of service as Chaplin for W.A.T.O.E.S, Mckinley Bulldog booster club member. and served as a member of the Queen Easter Neighborhood Association. She received countless Awards and Certifications for her hard work, dedication, and for the Impact she made in her community. Betty Ann was a faithful servant at Word of Liberty Church in Massillon, Ohio under Pastor Bernard Lawson. She served as an intercessor and had annual prayer breakfasts. At the age 80 she was pursuing her Doctoral degree in theology at Barak Christian Life College. She truly never met a stranger, or let a person go without a meal. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Lottie Coleman (Nash); husband, Willie C. Jackson, Sr.; (2) sisters, Geraldine and Willie Mae; (5) brothers, Derrick Currington and Luther, Henry, James (Nina) and Samuel Nash and; special sister-in-law, Ann Jackson; (1) granddaughter, Alisha D. Jackson; (1) great-granddaughter, Marcia Jackson; and spiritual sister, Maxine Keeton. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Wanda, Antoinette and Margerita Jackson, all of Canton, OH; sons, Willie C. Jackson, Jr. of Cleveland, OH; stepsons, Rodney Coleman of Leesburg, FL, and Daniel Acox of Robbins, IL; sister, Apostle Lottie Mae (James) Smith of Wooster, OH, as well as her sister-in-law, Rosette Howard of Orrville, OH; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; her best friend and prayer partner of 30 years, Donna Lamar; her spiritual children, Myra Watkins, Jacquline Jackson-Smith, Debra Greegor and Bobby Cutts; her community son, Rodney Reasonover; co-worker/ friend, Lillie Campbell; her special school friend, Dr. Sylvera McElroy Greene; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends, She truly was loved and will be missed dearly.
