Obituary

Bessie Mae Streeter Goodson, age 86, passed away on November 23, 2021 in Canton Ohio.

She will forever be remembered as our loving mother, grandmother and truly an inspiration to everyone that met her. She was beloved by her  family and many friends. Her priceless smile was a blessing to all who beheld it, as well as a voice of an angel that would bring the church to  attention when giving God praise and  worship for many years.

Bessie was a 1953 graduate of Washington High School in Massillon Ohio where she participated in a practical arts course and was a member of the Washington High School Choir. She initially attended Shiloh Baptist Church of Massillon Ohio, where she was a  member of the choir, Sunday-school teacher and vacation Bible school teacher.

In 1972 Bessie would later be joined in holy matrimony to Clarence W. Goodson for forty-five years, they later became members of Trinity Gospel Temple of Canton Ohio, in 1988. Bessie was an employee of Massillon State Hospital and following her retirement, she was a Service Attendant of Massillon and Canton City Schools.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Lula Streeter; husband, Clarence W Goodson; son, Clayton L Goodson; (9) siblings, Erie Jane McDew, Kizer Streeter, Francis L Archie, Effie L Morris, John W. Streeter, Prince Babe Streeter, Clifford Streeter, Annabelle Jackson, George E Thomas; daughter in-law, Vickie Pope Streeter; grandchildren, Matthew L. Copeland, Augustus Nimely, Allen Pullin, Keenan Coney, Alina Baskerville, Ke~Niyah Moore, Jayla Williams.

Bessie is survived by her children, Michael J Streeter of Canton, OH, Cheryl (John) Coney of Columbus, OH, Richard (Michelle) Streeter of Columbus OH, Gerald (Bonnie) Streeter of Canton, OH, Karen S Baskerville, (friend, Eric Lawson) of Columbus OH, Robert (Hope) Birdsong of Covington, GA, Kay Ellen Birdsong of Canton, OH, Luann (Vincent) Bryant of Columbus, OH, as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephew's and friends.
