Bessie "babe" L. Brown

Bessie will forever be remembered for her strong belief in The Lord, family and education.  She took pride in being a loving wife, mother and educator; helping to shape the lives of many children throughout the community.  Bessie graduated from North High School, the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and went on to earn her Masters' Degree from Walsh University.  She was an active member of the Phi Delta Kappa Sorority Inc.  She was a lifelong member of Unity Holiness Ministries C.O.G.I.C.  Bessie was employed by the Akron Public School System for thirty years.  During her tenure she was a reading specialist at Forest Hill, Erie Island and Rankin elementary schools.  She was one of the neighborhood moms, who always had an open heart and home.  She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and shopping. Bessie will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Bessie is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years David N. Brown Mother Bessie M. Jones twin sister Jessie L. Anderson and Geraldine Manning. She is survived by children David, Kevin, Jessie (Misce) and Devonte sister Mardel nephew Robert and niece Darlene.  Grandchildren Kevin Jr., Elijah, Danasha, Devonte Jr., Matthias and Zion and a host of relatives and friends.
