Bernita Lynn Singletary age 61, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in Canton, Ohio. She was born to Janet "Dump" Lewis-Singletary and Bill Singletary on October 4, 1953 in Canton, Ohio. Bernita was educated in the Canton City School System and a graduate of McKinley High School. She was presently enrolled in Stark State University to become a Social Worker. She really enjoyed being in school and loved learning so many new things by being there. She was employed at The Hill Store on Cherry Avenue S.E., for many years as a faithful employee, and before there, at Kelly's Store on Cherry Avenue N.E. Bernita loved Coca Cola and before that it was Pepsi Cola but she was truly a devoted fan of Coca Cola. She enjoyed playing family games such as Spades and PoKeeno, and watching TV. She was a decorator at heart loving Chefs as her theme with all types of Cuisine decorations in her kitchen.
Bernita was preceded in death by her parents Bill Singletary and Janet"Dump"Coney; son, Damon"Dae Dae" Singletary;sister, Vita Singletary, two brothers, Billy and Freddie Singletary; grandmother, Anna Pearl Singletary; great-grandmother, Agnes Mae Tyson; two aunts, Joyce M."Weenie" Lewis and Marva J. "Mert" Chambers, and Uncle Joe Lewis. She leaves to cherish her loving memory; two sons, Kevin L. "Bud" Singletary and Jason L. "J R" Singletary Sr.; three grandsons, Davonte L. Baker, Kevin L. Singletary Jr., and Jason L. Singletary Jr., and her one and only granddaughter Alexis L. "Shay" Martin of the home; two brothers, Jeffery Singletary of Canton, Ohio and John "Keno" Coney of Columbus, Ohio; five sisters, Betty Singletary, Leontine "MayMo" and Marcia "Marcy" Coney all of Canton, Ohio, Brenda Singletary of Miami, Florida, and Gussie Relford of Albany, Georgia; special cousin, Marcella Shipman; her friends that were very close to her, Karen Newman, Sarafinna (Barbie) Wesley, Louise Evans, Linda Jennings, Diane Sanders, Carol Sue Bradley, Priscilla McCollum and Debbie Hancock. And a special thanks to Bernard Burns who ran things the way Bernita wanted it ran. For all of her many nieces, nephews, family and friends she will be deeply missed.
