Asielean Dowdell "Big Mama", 92, went home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2021. Asielean was born in Birmingham, AL to Edward and Iona Harris. She accepted Christ at an early age where she attended First Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. Asielean married the late Willie Dowdell, Jr. and relocated to Akron, OH. She retired from City Hospital in 1979. She enjoyed bingo, family cookouts and dancing, especially the Cupid Shuffle. Asielean was the last surviving sibling of the Harris family. She is survived by her children, Stanford (Jackie) Dowdell, Regina Dowdell and Kelvin (Faye) Dowdell of Akorn, OH; grandchildren, Thomas (Melody), Terrance (Rae), Stephen, Kelvin (Whitney), Shavonne (Phil), Tyshawn, Charmaine, and Cherise; Goddaughter, LaStarr; great grandchildren Taylor and Stephanie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
