Aretta Anna
Dubose-Earley
March 21, 1939 – January 10, 2024
Our beloved Aretta Anna Dubose- Earley peacefully entered eternal rest on January 10, 2024. She was born on March 21, 1939 in Akron, Ohio, attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from North High School, Class of 1957. She worked for Barberton City Schools until her retirement in 2002. Under her mother's guidance, Aretta began attending church at a young age which led her to become a faithful member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed many things in life like caring for her plants, cooking, shopping, bowling, music, and spending time with her family. Her amazing sense of humor paired with her infectious laugh captured attention while her sophisticated attitude and polished demeanor demanded it. She was proper, honest, confident, articulate-a true representation of a beautiful, sophisticated LADY and she let it be known with her 3 favorite phrases "I am Aretta", "I'm too blessed to be stressed" and "I qualify." Aretta was preceded in death by her parents, Emmanuel and Thelma Dubose; grandson, Kevin Solomon Alexander Dubose of Orange Park, Florida; sisters Betty, Shirley and Patricia Dubose; and brother, Robert Dubose. She is survived by her two loving sons Kevin (Deborah) Dubose of Jacksonville, Florida and Keith Earley of Akron; grandchildren, Taylor Jones of Jacksonville, Florida; Arrington and Ah'Rayna Earley both of Indianapolis, Indiana; Keith and Denzel both of Akron; great grandchildren, Micholi and Daevon Dubose of Florida, Ele'Jah, Denver, and DJ of Akron. In addition she leaves to cherish her memory, sisters; Carolyn Moore, Dorothy Dubose, Karen Peoples and brother; Richard Dubose, all of Akron and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Aretta will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, especially her granddaughters Arrington and Ah'Rayna as they had formed a special connection. Aretta loved the Lord and she is now resting eternally in heaven. May her memory continue to remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be truly missed. The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of the Oncology Department at Cleveland Clinic Akron General for the care they showed to our beloved family member, Aretta Earley. Condolences may be sent to 830 Sarcee Ave, Akron, Ohio 44305
