Anthony J
Prince
June 27, 1952 – November 14, 2025
Anthony "Tony" J. Prince, born June 27, 1952, in Akron, Ohio to LaCorinia and Robert Prince, peacefully departed this life surrounded by family on November 14, 2025, at Summa Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Tony was educated in Akron Public Schools and later graduated from The University of Akron. He dedicated more than four decades of service to the community as a Respiratory Therapist at Western Reserve Hospital. His devotion to his profession included retiring, returning, and continuing his work with the same compassion and expertise that shaped his career. Tony also shared his knowledge with future healthcare professions as an instructor, guiding and mentoring many college students who went on to serve in the medical field.
Tony lived life with joy, warmth, and a generous spirit. An avid golfer, he enjoyed spending time on the green just as much as he cherished moments with his family, especially his grandchildren, and friends. He loved playing cards and dominos, telling jokes, and bringing laughter to those around him. His presence was a constant source of love and light for all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and LaCorinia Prince; sisters, Karen E. Stephenson and Gwendolyn F. Johnson; and brother Robert N. Prince. Left to honor his memory are his sister, Cheryl (David) Hood, and brother, Victor B. (Ruth) Prince; daughters Damaris Gibbons, Dr. Monica (Dr. Sandy) Womack and Antoinette Prince; grandchildren, Jabari Washington, Imani Womack, Nia Womack; and great-granddaughter, Jhersi Quinn Washington. Tony leaves behind his special friend, Annabelle Kirby-Foster; fifteen nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, extended family members and cherished friends.
Tony's legacy of kindness, wisdom, and humor will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him
