Anthony
Jones
September 14, 1962 – January 29, 2018
Anthony "Tony" Jones, age 55, was born September 14,1962 and transitioned this life on January 29, 2018, to join his maternal grandmother Reather Kelley, paternal grandparents, Lynn & Eloise Jones, parents Michael & Dorothy Jones, brothers Michael and Mark Jones, and niece Marissa Nicole Jones. He leaves to cherish his memories Uncle George (Margaret) Kelley of Morristown NJ, Aunt Hilda(Thaddeus) Burns of Canton, siblings Terry (Valerii) Williams of Los Angeles, California, sisters Marisa Williams also of California and Celleta Jones-Brown. Beloved nieces Chasity, Oreon and Keimani Jones and great nephew Julius (JuJu) Edwards. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, great nieces and nephews and very good friends too numerous to name. Tony grew up playing sports, football in particular. He ended his football career at McKinley Senior High School where he proudly graduated in 1980. He then joined the navy for a season. He was a loyal visitor to the gym. Tony loved to lift weights. He could have made a career of it. Tony also loved to travel, watch movies, sports and talk plenty of trash. Those of us who knew Tony well, knew 3 things that were very dear to his heart, his family, McKinley Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide. ROLL TIDE!!!! There is something very few people knew about Tony. Because of his very rough exterior, people missed what a loving and caring heart he had. Very few people were allowed to experience that intimacy with him. He was a very passionate individual who would fight to the death if you were part of that intimate circle. Tony's final act of unselfish love and kindness was being an organ donor. Life Banc has informed us of the many gifts Tony was able to give to others to help them live a more stable, fulfilled, and whole life. Tony will truly be missed. May he rest in peace. A special thank you from the family to Alex Longshore and all who were able to donate money to help offset the cost. We would like to sincerely thank you for your prayers, kind words, and being real friends to Tony in his time of need. A special thanks to Apostle Joseph Glover for standing in for Pastor Anthony Robinson.
