Today, we celebrate the incredible life of THE Andre Lamar Horner, who joined our heavenly father in the kingdom on Sunday June 30, 2024 in Canton Ohio. Born on May 28, 1968, in Canton, Ohio, Andre was the son of Herman (Deborah) Horner Sr and Willie Mae Horner. Andre was a devoted servant to others and enjoyed listening to music, attending zumba classes, shopping and absolutely always dressed to impress. He was a 1986 graduate of Massillon High School where he was a standout football player and team Captain. He continued his academic and football career at the University of Findlay where he was also the team captain, member of the debate,and cheerleading team. During his undergraduate journey, he studied abroad as an exchange student in England. Andre graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Finances but wasn't done yet. In true Andre fashion, he pursued a unique opportunity to teach English and American culture on Iki Island in Japan through the JET program. Andre wrapped up his impressive educational resume with a masters degree in Psychology focused in Independent Chemical Dependency Counseling. A selfless and intelligent individual, Andre was known for putting others before himself. As he navigated through life, he touched so many lives in a positive way. He served people as a counselor at various establishments, mentor to family and friends, teacher in multiple countries and always someone to lean on. Andre had a great sense of humor and an amazing ability to connect with people. Andre was preceded in death by his grandparents Sylvester Sr and Clanzie Horner and Rev. Willie C. and Daisy Fields, Uncles Sylvester Horner Jr., Ernie Parks; aunts, Ella Parks, Rhonda Horner; best friend Fred Little. He is survived by his parents; father Herman (Deborah) Horner Sr and mother Willie Mae Horner. His children; Andre and Lamar Horner and their mother Kyoko Yada-Horner, his siblings; Cynthia Dennis, Herman (Jennifer) Horner Jr, Jackie Horner, Tony Horner, Maurice (Trisha) Horner, Carla Torrence, Krystal (Rodney) Johnson, Hermetria (Donte) Durham. Andre also leaves to cherish his precious memory, 15 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, special friends, Jason Campbell and Wakako Tsunoda,a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family fund. The Horner family extends our gratitude and appreciation to all those who supported and cared for Andre.

He will be remembered as the flyest, freshest, most kind and loving person Canton has ever seen.
