His journey has now ended, his spirit has ascended claiming the great reward with Jesus, our Lord.

Alfonzo Hammonds Jr, affectionately known as Fonzo or Junior was called home to be with the lord.  His unexpected passing was due to several underlying issues from which his body could simply not recover.

Alfonzo was a cool guy who loved spending time with family and hanging out with his friends.  He was a lover of sports- especially local teams and could listen to the radio for hours.  He was someone quick to speak his mind and brought laughter and smiles to those who spent time with him.   A graduate of the Ohio Job Corp, Alfonzo spent his career primarily working in landscaping for RB Stout and doing private landscaping with a friend.  His pride and joy was his daughters, who now have children of their own and will continue to carry on his legacy.

Alfonzo was born on October 18, 1947 to Alfonzo Sr. and Annie D. Hammonds and departed this life on January 26, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Marie A. Roberts, his parents Alfonzo Sr. and Annie D Hammonds, and brother James Roger Hammonds.  He is survived by his daughters Tanya L. Roberts, LaShawn A. Pryor, brothers Edward (Cheryl) Hammonds, Thomas G. Hammonds, sisters Sandra Hammonds, Arminta L. Hammonds, and Jeanette (Robert) Hammonds.  Alfonzo also leaves eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
